This year, after a winter vacation
upon returning from warm Egypt to cold, rainy March, my boyfrien and I learne that a lockdown was being introduce in Kyiv again and, according to rumors, for at least a month. It was very difficult for us to be quarantined at home within if your reputation precedes you, protect it! four walls all year, we missed freedom, travel, and the sun. When we realized that we would not survive another lockdown at home, we opened a website .
We packed a backpack in 2 days, bought one-way tickets to Turkey and flew out on the first day of the lockdown in Kyiv. We expected to go for a couple of weeks, so we took a couple of T-shirts, laptops and a pack of buckwheat.
Housing and transport
We arrived in Turkey in mid-March to the warmest region – Antalya, and the first city we stayed in was Alanya. Since March is considere a non-tourist season, we had a huge choice of real estate at a very affordable price. In Turkey, we rented by lists apartments/houses for 15-25€ per day and these were very good apartments: some had swimming pools, gyms, hammams in the house.
We stayed in Alanya for 3 weeks, and then went to Fethiye, a city slightly west of the Alanya region. To travel around the country, we chose local airlines: there are 21 airports in Turkey, each of which is located in a very convenient location and close to large cities, and tickets for flights are very affordable – around 15-25€, there are also buses and minibuses.
